Built a Python MCP server that gives AI agents read-only tools over a DuckDB TPC-H warehouse (about 600,000 order lines): schema lookup, profiling, SQL, query plans, and the 22 standard TPC-H questions. One Docker image, stdio and HTTP.
Guardrails on every tool call: a sqlglot parser allows a single SELECT, the connection is read-only, and filesystem access is disabled. Documented table grain, keys, and revenue rules so agents hit the fact table without writes or guessed joins.
